Deepika Padukone is also brand ambassador of brands like Sony Cyber-shot, Neutorgena Fine Fairness range, Kingfisher Airlines, BSNL, Fiama Di Wills, Pepsi, Orbit and many more.

Recently Deepika shot for Nescafe commercial.She was accompanied by Purab Kohli.In the commercial, Deepika plays herself while Purab plays her neighbour.

During an interview, Deepika revealed that she is ‘Coffee-addicted’ and can’t start a day without a cup of coffee.

Kangana Ranaut has moved out of Deepa Mehta’s ‘Midnight’s Children‘.Previously Kangana had agreed to star in ‘Midnight’s Children‘, but now she has refused as she doesn’t have dates.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has finally agreed to work with Shyam Benegal.The film will go on floors next year.

The subject of the flick is female-oriented.Ash confirmed that the project is very special and not a period film,but takes actress into different time zone.

Previously Aishwarya was offered Benegal’s ‘Chamki Chameli‘, an adaptation of Georges Bizet’s classic French opera Carmen, but things didn’t work out.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is to work with hollywood comedian Ben Stiller.

Ash has done several international projects and has recently shooted with a Titanic Star Kate Winslet for an ad.

However, Sonam Kapoor is also being considered for the role.Though none of the two have signed the deal.

If you recall, Ash was also in talks with Michael Douglas for a Hollywood project to be shot in India. However, owing to Douglas’s dwindling health and his diagnosis of throat cancer, that project looks as good as shelved.

Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone will be the showstopper for popular jewellery designer Farah Khan Ali at the inaugural India International Jewellery Week (IIJW), starting in Mumbai on Sunday.

“Said I would announce the showstopper. She is beautiful, warm and a stunner. She is none other than Deepika Padukone. Thank you babe,” Farah, who will showcase her collection on the opening day of the jewellery week, posted on her Twitter page.

The five-day IIJW, hosted by Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council of India (GJEPC), will see collections from a melange of 30 designers, including Farah, Varun D. Jani, Bina Goenka and Rhea Nasta. Well-known jewellery brands like Mirari, Gitanjali, Amrapali, Tanishq and Ganjam will also participate in it.

The event is to be held at the Hotel Grand Hyatt, in Santa Cruz.

It will also feature 1,600 stalls displaying the works of 776 exhibitors, and participants from Thailand, Belgium, Israel, Italy, Turkey and the UAE will also set up their stalls.

Priyanka Chopra is chosen as brand ambassador for UNICEF’s child rights and adolescents.

UNICEF representative to India, Karin Hulshof, in a statement issued in Mumbai today, said that the signing ceremony in this regard will be held in New Delhi on August 10.

The story of the film is of a second generation Sikh named Parghat Singh (Akshay) in London. He’s the son of Gurtej Singh (Rishi Kapoor).

Akshay had to learn bowling for his role in the film. The film has mostly been shot in London.

The film is set for release in February next year.

Priyanka Chopra has just returned from Bangkok after shooting bike stunts for Khatron Ke Khiladi-3.

The stunts involved a motorbike race where Priyanka challenged a group of punks to a race through a terrain that would scare even a Grand Prix winner.

Priyanka had to ride through some of the most impossibly-rugged terrain. According to crew members who had gathered to shoot the video, the male mo’bike members used for the film were all professional riders used to riding at high speed through the most rugged hinterland.

The channel had offered to get a body-double to do the really intricate portions in the shooting. But Priyanka insisted on doing the entire mo’bike stunt-stint on her own.

Says Priyanka, “There is no challenge in half-measures. You either do the whole thing or don’t do it at all. I’ve always been fascinated by mo’bikes. I love mo’bike stunts. When I had seen Tom Cruise do the mo’bike stunts first thought was, ‘Gawd if only I could get to do that’. I guess my wish came true”.

The ride was not all fun and games. Priyanka has returned to Mumbai with quite a number of bruises. “But the pain was worth it. You can’t be one of the boys on the bike and not get your share of bruises”.

Mani Ratnam’s Raavan has just been given a new song, thanks to that poet par excellence Gulzar who saw the film and suggested the embellishment. The director, always open to fresh ideas from his team, readily agreed. Composer Rahman was informed and that’s how Raavan got a new song.

Gulzar Saab, who just back from Goa after participating in the stage rendition of four of his plays, says the song was almost a gift he owed Mani Ratnam for gifting him something that he, Gulzar, had never received in his entire 47-year old career as a lyricist.

Mani sent the poet-lyricist a note after the release of the Raavan music congratulating Gulzar Saab for the songs.

Says Gulzar Saab, “In my entire career I’ve never received such a heartwarming endorsement of my work. I received a note from Mani Ratnam congratulating me and saying he’s very proud of the music. And look at the humility of this genius. No filmmaker has ever sent me a note like this. Mani is the only one. And this one gesture has enhanced my respect for him even more.”

Not only this gesture, Gulzar Saab also received an invitation from Mani to see the film at a special screening for which the poet flew down to Chennai recently.

It was there that the new song suddenly happened.

Recounts Gulzar Saab, “After editing Raavan, Mani wanted me to watch the film. No filmmaker invites even the technical crew for a preview, let alone the lyricist. I flew down to Chennai to watch the film. I’d never do something like this for anyone else. This is how strongly I feel about this man’s humility and greatness.”

As the end-credits rolled and Rahman’s music began, Mani Ratnam and Gulzar Saab thought there ought to be a song at the end.

That’s how Gulzar Saab wrote an additional number for Raavan… ‘Ab Iss Shareer Ke Sirey Khol Dey/Aur Goongi Aatma Ko Bol Dey‘.

Says Gulzar Saab, “Both Mani and I felt the music that Rahman had composed for the end titles was too beautiful to go wordless. We decided to give words to Rahman’s creation.”

Rahman was then given the task of turning the music piece into a song. Interestingly neither Mani Ratnam nor A. R. Rahman fully understands Gulzar’s Urdu poetry.

Defends Gulzar Saab, “But they are never short of questions. Never does a word go in until Mani is fully convinced of its relevance. He’s never hesitant about asking. I would be appalled if my words were accepted blindly by a director. Even if his Urdu is weak, Mani has a terrific sense of poetry and images.”

Mallika Sherawat is at the Cannes Film Festival to unveil the promo of her first home production Hissss, along with brother and co-producer Vikram Lamba. She has planned for an unusual event to create a buzz about her film.

On May 16 at the Hotel Majestic on the Cannes croissette, the actress will be seen performing a nag pooja, followed by a dance with a 15 foot python wrapped around her.

The 220 pound snake has been specially brought in from the US and Mallika has been rehearsing with it for the last four days.

Apparently the nag puja-dance will be unlike anything ever before seen at the global film festival and market held each year in the south of France.

The source reveals, “Mallika will also unveil the theatrical trailer of her film Hissss by a top Hollywood company and will also announce the release date.”

The actress will wear a specially designed dress by a top designer while her style team, led by Claus Hjelmbak and Ivan Bitton, will style her look. They had also styled her last appearance at Cannes look, when she had walked the red carpet with Jackie Chan for their film The Myth.”

Hissss is an Indo-American production starring Mallika Sherawat, Irrfan Khan, Divya Dutta and directed by Jennifer Lynch. Mallika plays a snake woman in Hissss who comes to wreak vengeance on her detractors.
