Hollywood actress, Emma Watson featured on The Times Magazine for the month of June 2009. Not just a swotty face, she spent her formative years as the geeky Hermione. Now, Emma Watson is flying the Harry Potter nest, swapping Hogwarts for a seat on fashion’s front row and three years as a student. And, she tells Kate Muir, there won’t be a film script in sight.
Actress Emma Watson reveals she might quit acting and fully dedicate herself to her studies. In a recent interview, the 19 year-old actress confessed she will only consider getting back to the big screen if it’s another challenging role.
Emma admitted, “I don’t have a burning passion for acting. Until something comes along that I feel as strongly about as I did Hermione - like, I felt that it was life or death - I don’t want to act again.”
I think Emma still has a lot to prove as actress but she is talented. If that role does come up, she wants to keep studying. It can be done: Jodie Foster and Natalie Portman are her role models.
She said: “Jodie Foster did it, Natalie Portman did it. I think it’s entirely possible to juggle university with filming. I actually think going to university will make me a better actress. The experience of living like that, working to deadlines, living with other students. It’s all the things I want.”
Emma is really smart and down to earth. She has the potential to succeed and be a big Hollywood actress in the future.
